I am Rami Malkawi, you are all welcome to my blog. You will find here four pieces of video about my Wizard-based Digital Storytelling Prototype, and also the execution file of this Prototype. These videos describe the whole process of developing an interactive Digital Story for learning by using this tool from A to Z .
The wizard, which is integrated with the story seven elements and encapsulate them, does not only provide technical guidance but more importantly it will direct and support the user in developing a Digital Story that meets the expectations and structure of what is considered to be appropriate. This is one of the main reasons for developing the tool.
There are many technical barriers present in developing Digital Stories by non-computer literate individuals. Hope this Wizard-based user-friendly tool will help to be part of the solution.
Hope you find this tool attractive, interactive and user-friendly. Your comments are highly appreciated.
The first piece of video: Introduction & Your Objects' Folder.
The second piece of video: How to Open the Tool, the Demo & Browse for your Objects.
The third piece of video: Prepare your Digital Storytelling Slides.
The forth piece of video: The complete Digital Story Show.

Rami, Hope testing's going well. Just wanted to pass this feedback from Mohamed Mhereeg, who says:
ReplyDeleteHi Rami,
I have used your system to create a simple project. The system is useful, interactive, and user-friendly. However, I believe that it would be a more user friendly if the following comments are considered.
- There is no need for the BACK button in the welcome window as it is not functioning and does not actually take the user a step back.
- There is a long gap between the buttons.
- The open/create new project page:
– Does not have an OK button in order to confirm the selection.
– Does not allow choosing the location in which the user can save the project.
– Does not allow cancelling the open/create the project step (i.e. CANCEL button needs to be provided)
- The system allows users to start creating a project even before choosing a title for the story.

Thanks so much Dr.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you have found my system useful, interactive, and user-friendly.
Your comments are highly appreciated, Some of them are v good for my system while I think you have a misunderstand in some other comments as the followings:
- Does not allow choosing the location in which the user can save the project. All projects are saved on the desktop first as folders then when the user is happy for the project folder he/she can copy and paste them anywhere he/she likes. I don't see there is a need to save the project everywhere until the project is finished and the user is happy with it.
-Does not allow cancelling the open/create the project step (i.e. CANCEL button needs to be provided. As we all know when the user is not happy and he would like to Cancel it he can also close the system which it works as Cancel button.
- The system allows users to start creating a project even before choosing a title for the story. Of course this is the right procedure to create the project first, this is because this project will contain the story objects so it will be created first. The name of the project is not as necessary as the Story title and it doesn't matter what the project name is because it's just a folder.
